The AOP Smoothie Series: #5 –  The Power Smoothie

Bananas are well known to be loaded with essential vitamins and minerals such as potassium, calcium, manganese, magnesium, iron, folate, niacin, riboflavin, and B6. These all contribute to the proper functioning of the body and keeping you healthy. The high content of potassium in bananas makes it a super fruit. Add yummy raspberries and healthy quinoa to the mix and you have a delicious smoothie rich in vitamins, antioxidants and fiber.

On a sidenote, did you know that raspberries have a high concentration of ellagic acid, a phenolic compound that prevents cancer, thereby stopping the growth of cancer cells and eliminating the progress of some cancers. 

Let's get mixing..

Each Smoothie Has:

  • 1/2 of an Organic Banana
  • 1/3 Cup of Organic Raspberries
  • 1/8 Cup of Cooked Organic Quinoa

For a frozen smoothie simply add 3-4 ice cubes to the blender and let the summer begin!

Why the Quinoa you might be asking?

Well the answer is simple, quinoa is one of the most protein-rich foods we can eat, contains iron and almost twice as much fiber as most other grains! There you have it, the perfect ingredients for a true Power Smoothie!
