Maharishi Ayurveda Nasya oil for nasal skin care is made from 25 powerful herbs such as vetiver, nut grass, cinnamon, cardamom and sandalwood. According to Ayurveda, it nourishes all five sense organs and is said to strengthen the flow of prana. Prana is the most subtle aspect of breathing. Nasya Oil is Tridoshashamaka. It balances the three dosha - Vata, Pitta & Kapha.

The ancient Ayurvedic texts describe the nose as the gateway to "Shirah" (the head) and therefore the entrance for Prana, the life force that enters the body through breathing. Hence, these Ayurvedic writings underscore the significance of wholesome breathing to guarantee a robust flow of prana across the body. It is believed that this practice bolsters the senses and facilitates the movement of prana.

Sesame oil as a base oil is a light oil that is easily absorbed and moisturises. Sandalwood, liquorice and vetiver are used for their cooling and soothing properties. Applications standing up: Apply 2-3 drops on the little finger and gently apply inside the nostrils, massaging the inner wall of the nasal passage. Application lying down: Tilt your head back gently and place 2-3 drops into each nostril. Sniff gently and deeply. Can be used several times a day. Tip before air travel: Apply a few drops of Nasya oil inside the nostrils before air travel to prevent dryness.
